We’re so proud of everyone on our team who conceived, wrote, designed, and developed our International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill award-winning 20th Anniversary campaign for the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (now Michael Smith Health Research BC).

For more than 40 years, the IABC Gold Quill Awards have recognized and awarded excellence in strategic communication worldwide. Gold Quill is the only awards program that honours the dedication, innovation and passion of communicators on a global scale.

So you can imagine we’re feeling pretty chuffed about our win, and, just as much, the campaign’s success.

To mark MSFHR’s 20th anniversary, we built a campaign to communicate the organization’s 20 years of history, 20 years of progress, and 20 years of research stories in B.C. At its core, the campaign celebrated B.C’s health researchers and their work as global leaders, driving innovation in our health system and improving the health of our populations.

We were confident that the campaign was some of our best work, but winning the Gold Quill 2022 Marketing, Advertising and Brand Communication Award of Merit? That was a chicken we weren’t going to count before it hatched.

But we can now. Here’s what one of the IABC judges had to say:

“This project is a benchmark in professional standards.”

We’d also like to recognize the hard work of the MSFHR team, especially Julia White and Mahafrine Petigara, and our Senior Communications Lead Rachel Wong, Celia Chung our lead designer, and CEO/Creative Director Brandy Svendson for leading this project. It wouldn’t have happened without you.
