Launch of My Health is Sexy: Interior Health gets sexy

This World AIDS Day, December 1, 2014, we’re thrilled to be launching the B.C. Interior Health My Health is Sexy campaign, as part of British Columbia’s ground-breaking Seek and Treat for Optimal Prevention of HIV/AIDS (STOP HIV/AIDS) program that encourages routine HIV testing and earlier treatment.

At Be the Change Group, we believe that an AIDS-free British Columbia is in sight, and the My Health is Sexy campaign is a step toward this goal. Over the past year, we’ve developed a four phase campaign that features a comprehensive regional needs assessment, creative team design and targeted material testing, implementation, and evaluation.

At the heart of our campaign is the message that knowing your HIV status is an important part of a healthy sex life and a good relationship. It draws attention to the work of Interior Health, community partners, and physicians in reducing HIV transmission by ensuring those living with HIV/AIDS know their HIV status and have access to the best care through expanded HIV testing and engagement in prevention and treatment.

Getting to zero—zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths—is possible. Let’s make it happen!
