More than 1,800 stakeholders from around the world came together in Cape Town, South Africa, this past May for the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference (IMNHC 2023). For our team, it was an exhilarating opportunity to hear from people working to accelerate solutions to improve maternal and newborn survival and prevent stillbirths in a coordinated and inclusive manner. It was also our first chance to see the brand identity we created for the conference take centre stage.

From developing the conference story, theme, and brand identity in partnership with conference organizers AlignMNH, to developing and launching the conference website, we were proud to play a part in bringing the vision and message of this conference to life. You can read more about our process in the story Birth of a brand identity.

In early May 2023, three members of our team—our CEO and Creative Director Brandy Svendson, Creative Project Manager Annalise Burdett, and Communication Designer Celia Chung—flew to Cape Town ahead of the conference to supervise the installation of conference assets at the venue, design additional materials as needed, and support the run-of-show for all of the plenary sessions, which were attended by hundreds of participants.

Here are some images that capture the brand identity we created in its environment, as well as the energy and scope of this unforgettable conference. All photos, except the photo of our team members, are courtesy of Black Lab Media.
