Natalie co-founded Be the Change Group in 2012 in order to bring public and population health experts, researchers, and creative minds together under one roof to solve complex problems. This combination ensures that creative solutions are evidence-based, and that research problems are approached in a community-driven, creative, and human-centred way.
Natalie’s expertise in science, medicine, and community health promotion and prevention allows her to assess and integrate clinical strategies and workflows, and effectively manage our multidisciplinary team. She has extensive experience in identifying knowledge gaps, conducting research, and providing knowledge translation in relation to population health systems, and she is highly familiar with public health policy, and program development, operation, and assessment.
Her experience in quality assurance and quality control processes ensures that Be the Change Group always delivers high value products tailored to each client’s needs and expectations. Throughout her career, Natalie has focused her attention on building healthy communities, which she now aims to achieve through both frontline clinical service and broad health prevention initiatives.
Natalie is also known for her world-renowned secret snack drawer, and inviting (peer-pressuring) the office to do really intense workouts.
Currently, at Three Bridges Community Health Centre, Natalie provides addiction medicine services to Vancouver’s inner city key populations, including people living with mental illness and substance use disorders, sex workers, and at-risk youth. In addition, she serves as an associate medical director for Odyssey Medical in mass gathering medicine events. This breadth of clinical experience and community service affords Natalie a non-judgmental perspective and approach to patient care that considers patient-specific barriers.
Natalie is a graduate of the Family Medicine program at St. Paul’s Hospital, and has a B.Sc. (Honours) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, an MD from University of Calgary, and an M.H.Sc. from the University of British Columbia.
