Bio

A key member of our research team, Stephanie provides expertise in child and maternal health, health policy, program planning and evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research, and technical report writing. In addition to supporting our research director in leading the research team, she excels in developing research tools; facilitation of focus groups, key informant interviews, and roundtables; and analyzing data and presenting findings.

Having worked on a variety of topics pertaining to public health, Stephanie has gained both experience with evidence-based best practices and particular skill in applying a social determinants of health lens to a wide range of projects, and with diverse populations. In support of this work, she has completed the IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation training program. Further, her expertise in the health care sector features research and coordination work on a City of Kimberly Child Care Needs Assessment, the Saskatchewan Emergency Medicine Collective, a BCCDC Harm Reduction and Overdose KT Programs, and the iCON website.

Stephanie also has extensive experience in the academic arena, having worked in a undergraduate-level teaching capacity—which included facilitating learning opportunities, developing teaching materials, and providing mentorship—and coordinating support for the UBC Public Health and Preventative Medicine Program, which included coordinating support for a redesign of the residency program and supporting adult learning.

Stephanie brings collaboration, engagement, and empathy to our firm. From supporting practicum students on our research and community engagement team to ensuring that the work we do supports various multicultural groups in our local community, she seeks to learn the most from everyone with whom she interacts. This talent for hearing others brings purpose, passion, and the inspiration necessary to building innovative solutions. Beyond the workplace, her enthusiasm is infectious (in a good way, of course), as Stephanie shares her love for nature, hiking, food, and her supermutt, Frankie, with us all.

Stephanie holds a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and a Master of Public Health from Simon Fraser University.
