UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK ON CLIMATE CHANGE

NATIONALLY APPROPRIATE
MITIGATION ACTION ANIMATION

Client Vision

Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are a set of policies and actions that countries undertake as part of a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In order to raise the profile and visibility of NAMAs, the UN Climate Change Secretariat wanted to produce a video animation as part of a ‘count-down social-media led campaign’ to international NAMA Day. The full animation was also to be used to open the Day as a ‘signature clip’ at the Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015.

Process

We researched, designed, and produced an animation-style video documentary narrated by, recording artist and co-founder of the Akon Lighting Africa Project, Akon to help our client to position NAMAs as a vital instrument for climate action and sustainable development.

Change

The animation was launched at the Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015 and is used by the UN Climate Change Secretariat to raise awareness of NAMAs, in turn inspiring countries to participate in climate change initiatives, encouraging future projects and donors.
